Allein im letzten Jahr wurden in Berlin 516 Anträge auf Abriss von Gebäuden freigegeben. Diverse Mieter*innen und Projekte sind akut von Abriss betroffen und stehen kurz davor, ihr Zuhause und ihre Räume zu verlieren. Abgerissen wird viel zu oft im Namen von Profitinteressen, weil die Instandhaltung vernachlässigt wird und nicht weil ein Neubau sozialer, geschweige denn ökologischer wäre. So bedeute Abriss Verlust von bezahlbarem Wohnraum, Verdrängung von Menschen und die Zerstörung der Umwelt in Zeiten von Leerstand, sozialer Ungerechtigkeit und Klimakrise.
Wir laden euch deswegen zu einem stadtpolitischen Spaziergang ein – gegen Abriss, gegen spekulativen Leerstand und für bezahlbare Mieten und Wohnen für alle Menschen!
Wir werden an einigen abrissbedrohten Häusern & Projekten vorbeilaufen und etwas zu ihren Kämpfen hören.
Abriss ist keine Alternative!
Last year alone, 516 applications for the demolition of buildings were approved in Berlin. Various tenants and projects are acutely affected by demolition and are about to lose their homes and spaces. Demolition is far too often carried out in the name of profit interests, because maintenance is neglected and not because a new building would be more social, let alone ecological. Thus, demolition means loss of affordable housing, displacement of people and destruction of the environment in times of vacancy, social injustice and climate crisis.
We therefore invite you to an urban political walk – against demolition, against speculative vacancy and for affordable rents and housing for all people!
We will walk past some houses & projects that are threatened with demolition and
projects and hear something about their struggles.
Demolition is not an alternative!
